Self-employment allows you to do anything, be anywhere, and work anytime. You are your own boss. You can work at home or elsewhere. You can choose the number of hours you want to work. You can do more or less work any day. You can make more money but you are not going to receive it right away. You initially have to work in blood, sweat, and tears. You must give out sample(s) of your products/services for free. You have to reach, connect, and encourage family, friends, and others to buy your products/services. Additionally, you have to create a unique brand/logo that others would recognize. All of these tasks are worth the price because of your ownership and control of your own business. However, when you work for other people, you are under their control. No matter how long you stay, how much work you perform, and how devoted you are to the company, you can still be fired or laid off. You unfortunately get less benefits. Could that be the reason most people do not like their jobs? If so, I understand. I have worked at jobs where I could not take any more of the relentless drama, arrogance, foolishness, etc. from co-workers, supervisors/managers, and customers alike. I want to move forward to an online business. It is something I truly and wholeheartedly want to build. It is my destiny. It feels right to my soul. The 5 reasons I desire self-employment are:
- I want to frequently travel overseas.
- I want to continue meeting, dating, romancing, and communicating with foreign women until I find my future wife.
- Hopefully, she is in Colombia or Dominican Republic.
- I want to learn and understand more Spanish for a deeper connection with Latin American women.
- I want to explore different cultures.
- Taking images and discussing new info about different countries, people, etc. in this blog (Foreign Love Web) would be great and inspirational to you readers.
- I would like to spend a month or longer in each of the foreign countries I visit.
- It would be nice to rent an comfortable apartment.
- Maybe I can invite a date or girlfriend for dinner and a movie.

- I want to visit various places and eat food I never have.
- A date can guide and inform me about the important places, people, etc. in her country.
- I can take a break from eating fried chicken, pizza, and other American food.
- I want to continue meeting, dating, romancing, and communicating with foreign women until I find my future wife.
- I want to financially help others in need.
- Donating money to different charities like Feeding America and Habitat for Humanity is a start.
- I also would like to donate money to some foreigners I meet abroad.
- In fact, I did give a boy money (Colombian pesos) during my second trip in Barranquilla, Colombia.
- I need to pay off my student loans.
- I owe about $50,000 to Great Lakes.
- I took online classes at DeVry University Online from October 2010 to June 2013.
- I took 1 or 2 classes every 8 weeks all year round.
- I want financial independence/freedom.
- I want to be able to pay bills, buy groceries, extend my vacation stay, etc. without going broke.
- I want to inspire others to do the same.
- In fact, a successful online business owner and expat blogger named James Maverick already does that on his blog “Maverick Traveler“.
- He offers an entrepreneurship program including boot camp, email or chat communication, instructional videos, membership with the community, and everything else for $67 ($97 original price).
- I regularly read his blog posts and write comments.
- I plan to join and pay for his digital boot camp so that he can communicate, advise, and help me build a successful business online.
- Once I become successful, I would do what James does too.
- I want to see more people thinking and working smarter plus making their dreams come true. They need to leave their jobs if they are unhappy. Life is too short to be depressed and to do something you do not like.

There are more advantages for self-employment than there are working for others. I have worked at some jobs where I feel like a slave to unappreciative or despicable people. I consequently want to escape and become an online entrepreneur (or should I say “freed slave working for myself”). Also, James has mentioned in his blog that I would not become rich by working for others. He is definitely right. Most of these jobs (especially the low paying ones) are not worth dealing with the emotional pain. Like me, you would be so miserable. You would want to quit, disappear, or close your eyes and never wake up. I am now more serious and motivated to build an online business. If it does not work well or I have to wait patiently for it to grow, then I would start another. I am not giving up on my dream life. I want to be like James. I want to be at an exotic place with a beautiful foreign woman someday.
